Nose
The complexity of this whisky becomes apparent from the very first nosing. A seductive blend of coconut and vanilla meets fruity notes of plums, apricots and strawberries. These are joined by unripe pears and apples, which bring a slight acidity and lend freshness to the bouquet. Marzipan shimmers through in the background and provides a fine sweetness, while a subtle dryness rounds off the complex impression.
Palate
The first sip confirms the impression from the nose - the ‘Gordon’ is an intense, yet smooth whisky. An oily texture carries the vinous notes, which are characterised by peaches, blackberries and strawberries. Despite its strength, it remains mild and balanced.
