Nose
What do you expect with the rugged coastline of the Isle of Sky? Exactly - salt, seawater, rough seas. The sea air is accompanied by light cold smoke and iodine. Pleasant citrus aromas and an underlying fruitiness - we're thinking pear - round off the profile of this classic.
Palate
"It's kind of everything," says Marcel. There is no lack of different impressions in the taste. There are malty-sweet and vanilla aromas, as well as salty and peppery-sharp moments. We also recognise the pear from the nose. Leathery hints and accompanying peat smoke are also present.
Finish
Spicy, peppery and with a tart saltiness, the 10-years Scotch does not burn unpleasantly on the palate. We think here of the fiery burn of a chilli.

What makes Talisker 10 years old special compared to other single malts?
Talisker 10 years old is distinguished by its maritime character, originating from the Isle of Skye. Typical are salty, iodine-rich aromas combined with light peat smoke and a complex flavor mix of malt, vanilla, pepper, and fruity nuances like pear.
How should Talisker 10 years old best be enjoyed to experience all its aromas?
To experience the full range of aromas, it’s recommended to drink Talisker 10 years old neat or with a few drops of water. The water opens up the aromas and softens the alcohol, while ice can mute the flavor.
Why does Talisker 10 years old have such a distinct salty and peppery note?
The salty note comes from the distillery’s proximity to the rugged coast of the Isle of Skye, where the sea air influences maturation. The peppery sharpness is typical of Talisker and arises from the special combination of peat smoke and the yeasts used during distillation.
