Tasting Notes
Nose
Very fruity, but not very sweet with a little vanilla. We perceive honeydew melon and mango. A little banana and oaky notes resonate. NicNacs are hiding far in the back. Yes. Really.
Palate
The blended malt opens very vanilla-fruity and a little candle waxy. Banana chips and orange aromas quickly follow. On top is an interesting aroma that reminds us of apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Finish
The medium-long finish is a bit oaky and spicy.
Thoughts
Marcel 75/100
This Speyside blend offers plenty of drinking pleasure with its fruity lightness and charming vanilla notes. For a no-age-statement whisky, it surprises with a pleasant smoothness and a hint of apple pie – perfect for enjoyable evenings without any fuss. A solid companion that’s fun to drink and worth the price.
Sascha 75/100
A well-balanced blended malt from Speyside that impresses with its clearly defined fruitiness and subtle oak notes. The balance between vanilla and lightly spicy aromas works well, although the medium-length finish could benefit from a bit more depth. An attractively priced whisky with good complexity, suitable for both beginners and connoisseurs.
