Glentauchers 11 Years 2012/2024 - Signatory Vintage
The Glentauchers distillery in Speyside is one of the lesser-known but not exactly small distilleries. This is primarily because there is no visitor center, and most of the production is used in blended whiskies. Besides its own core range bottling, there are occasionally independently bottled Glentauchers malts. Today, we sampled the 11-years from the 100 Proof series by Signatory Vintage. The latter is very popular with us, and we were looking forward to this dram.
Tasting Notes
Nose
The nose is immediately malty and caramel-sweet. We find vanilla and fresh shortbread before the scent unfolds into fruity notes. Yellow raisins, apricot, mango, and a hint of dark forest berries. Surrounded by perfumed floral notes, we think of forest honey and get a very lively impression of the malt.
Palate
On the palate, this Glentauchers hits with full force. Oily, almost syrupy, we get a load of fruity intensity. Cherries and grainy sweetness are accompanied by toffee. Here too, there is a quick transformation, and the spicy-nutty aromas dominate. We find cloves, a good dose of oak spice, and a small cup of café au lait.
Finish
he finish is long-lasting, warming, and full-bodied. We have a combination of baking cocoa and oak wood, accompanied by ripe mango and some herbal notes, where we most associate with licorice.

Marcel 83/100
A lively Speyside dram that delights with its fruity sweetness and full body – perfect for anyone who enjoys intense tasting experiences. The combination of cherries, Toffifee, and a hint of café au lait makes it a real mood booster. Signatory Vintage once again proves that quality doesn’t have to come with a high price tag.
Sascha 83/100
This 11-years Glentauchers displays a clear, structured balance between fruity sweetness and spicy oak notes, well integrated at 57.1% ABV. The complex aroma profile, ranging from yellow raisins to baking cocoa, is harmonized by a syrupy texture, yet remains precise and well defined throughout. A technically accomplished example of a well-balanced sherry cask maturation from Speyside.

Signatory Vintage carefully selects casks and offers the 100 Proof series as a non-diluted bottling, which showcases the malt’s character in a particularly lively and powerful way.
