Berry Bros. & Rudd - Blended Malt Speyside
Mellow, Sweet Fruity2022-08-13
We have a blended malt from the Classic Range by Berry Bros & Rudd in our glass. The Classic Range includes Whiskys from the different regions of Scotland, in this case from Speyside. Of course, the company does not reveal which distilleries the different Whiskys come from.
Smell
Very fruity, but not very sweet with a little vanilla. We perceive honeydew melon and mango. A little banana and oaky notes resonate. NicNacs are hiding far in the back. Yes. Really.
Taste
The blended malt opens very vanilla-fruity and a little candle waxy. Banana chips and orange aromas quickly follow. On top is an interesting aroma that reminds us of apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Finish
The medium-long finish is a bit oaky and spicy.
Thoughts
A very nice blend. Although it doesn't have an age statement, it tastes a little sharp and was probably blended with one or two older Whiskys. Wonderfully full and long-lasting in the mouth, the Speysider tastes very fruity.
Both beginners and connoisseurs will get their money's worth here. Speaking of costs: The price is absolutely within reason.
