Lucas' first encounter with whisky was anything but a success: a bottle bought with four friends, no clue, no proper glasses – and a rather uneasy feeling at the end. He and whisky clearly didn't start out as equals. A longer break followed, during which Lucas found his way into spirits through rum. The turning point came via a good friend who had himself slipped into the whisky world through work colleagues: the more time the two spent together, the wider that universe opened up – first tastings, growing curiosity, and eventually the realisation that rum was yesterday. Today whisky is his home – most recently over a shared dram of the Glenburgie 9.
