For Florian it all began in 2019 with an Auchentoshan 12 – except the spark just didn't catch back then. Maybe bad luck, maybe simply the wrong moment; either way, the dram didn't yet match his taste. He never fully let go of it, though: together with a buddy and his father, a glass was tried again and again. The real pull came through the regular tastings with Marcel and Sascha – round after round, Florian dived deeper and never looked back. Today his heart beats for maritime whiskies: salty, coastal and smoky, as most recently over a shared dram of the Ledaig 5.
