MyBar South German Malt Whisky Tawny Port Finish

MyBar South German Malt Whisky Tawny Port Finish

Malts from three German distilleries (Swabian Alp, Black Forest, Lake Constance) were married together. Some of these were previously matured in former Islay casks and the oldest of the three components was allowed to mature for over 12 years in bourbon casks. The malt was then finished in ex-Tawny port casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose

The first impression on the nose is mild and fruity, dominated by juicy cherries and an abundance of red fruit. A sweetish note resonates, which is perfectly balanced by a subtle spiciness. The aroma promises a multi-layered flavour experience and immediately arouses curiosity for the first sip.

Palate

A surprising versatility unfolds in the mouth. The texture is oily and pleasantly full-bodied. Right at the start, an unexpected smokiness surprises, which blends harmoniously with the lingering cherry sweetness. This combination makes for an extremely clean and clearly structured flavour experience that impresses with its depth and complexity.

Finish

The finish is long-lasting and beautifully spicy. Notes of roasted coffee emerge discreetly, accompanied by a fine sweetness that gently caresses the palate. The spicy finish remains pleasantly present and rounds off the South German Malt Whisky.
