Ayrer's Red Organic Single Malt 2019/2024

2025-03-16 The AYRER's RED Organic Single Malt 2019/2024 is a German whisky from the Hausbrauerei Altstadthof in Nuremberg. This organic whisky is made from specialty malt from Franconia, which also gives traditional Nuremberg Red Beer its reddish color and velvety smooth taste. The mash is fermented in wooden vats and then gently distilled in a small copper still. After maturing for at least three years in new American oak casks, the whisky is bottled unfiltered by hand, with each bottle individually numbered.

Further Information Hausbrauerei Altstadthof was founded in 1984 at the historic site of the former Rotes Brauhaus in Nuremberg’s old town. It was the first brewery in Germany to use only organic ingredients. Since 2005, brewmaster Reinhard Engel and his son Max have been distilling Germany’s first organic single malt whisky at their own AYRER’s whisky distillery, where the whisky also matures on-site. The name AYRER’s is derived from Ayrershof, now known as Altstadthof, which was owned by the Ayrer family of Nuremberg until 1568.
