Slipknot No.9 Whiskey

Delicate, Juicy, Oak, Vanilla
Often, the celebrities who give their names to spirits have nothing to do with it - this is not the case here. The drummer Shawn Crahan has blended the two varieties No. 9 and No. 9 Reserve. We have the No. 9 in the tasting.
No. 9 was developed in collaboration with the Cedar Ridge distillery in Iowa and has become the distillery's best-seller nationwide. Cedar Ridge uses locally grown Iowa corn (51%) for their whiskeys, plus 35% malted rye and 14% malted barley.

Bourbon | 3 Year Old | 45,00 % ABV. | 59,86 €/l | Cedar Ridge Distillery Distillery | produced in USA (Iowa) | Whiskybase ID 147606

The bourbon opens with a pleasant intense and vanilla-like oak aroma. Notes of cinnamon, butter and nut follow. We can't help but think of French rolls.

The bourbon also delivers on the taste what the nose promises. The intense and spicy taste of American oak paired with vanilla aromas is the dominant note. The voluminous and creamy mouthfeel is precisely elaborated by a hint of citrus and with fruity blood orange.

The medium-long finish is creamy and slightly spicy.

Often, such cooperations go down the drain. A prominent name is given to a mediocre spirit for advertising purposes. In this case it looks different. Slipknot collaborated on the process and Whiskey No. 9 is an all-round successful composition of the usual bourbon flavours with special accents. It's light, sweet and fruity with plenty of spice shining through with every sip. Delicious.
